Movie soundtracks shape what we feel, even before we know why.

anni xo (they/them), a young queer musician hailing from Minnesota who discovered solace and self-expression through music. Drawing inspiration from the likes of boygenius, Annie Dirusso, and Dora Jar, anni's music is a captivating fusion of alternative songwriting and pop stylings that intricately weave together themes of love, loss, and the trials of youth in a post-modern world.

After earning the Album of the Year award at the 2024 Loring Awards for their debut project, "allergic to dogs," anni added to their accolades earning the coveted Artist of the Year & Record of the Year awards at the 2025 and 2026 Loring Awards, a testament to their artistry and impact within the local scene. Their talent has also garnered attention from the Current's scouting report, earned them the title of Emerging Artist by Music in Minnesota, and allowed them to open for iconic Twin Cities bands like Bad Bad Hats and Ber, as well as tour with national acts like Semler.

anni’s song, “angels” off of their 2025 EP, “what’s become of us” was featured in MPS Magazines “Best New Minnesota Bands From May 2025” with a featured review stating, “anni xo has been on the precipice of making it big, with fresh works that promise to continue their journey of musical exploration and boundary-pushing creativity”. 

Onstage, anni xo is joined by a talented ensemble of musicians, including Maddie Thies (any pronouns) on bass guitar, Riley Jacobson (he/him) on electric guitar, Aurelio Sandoval (he/him) on drums, and Hunter SinClair Hawthorne (he/him) on keys and production. Together, they create a dynamic and captivating live experience.
